10 players who can steal the show in PKL season 6
Pro Kabaddi League is all set to kick-off from 7th October 2018. 12 teams will be against each other to win that glorious PKL trophy. Non-stop Kabaddi action for 13 weeks in 13 cities will surely be a treat for all the fans and viewers.
In every season of Pro Kabaddi League, some players leave their impact on the league. New players shine with their game. There are some players who can prove to be instrumental for their respective teams in the upcoming season 6.
1) Pardeep Narwal, Patna Pirates
Dubki King Pardeep Narwal is the second most raid points scorer in PKL history. He has scored 632 points from 64 matches. Pardeep has done most 32 Super Raids. He has done 2nd most Super Raids (29).
In the previous season, he scored 369 raid points which are the most by any player in PKL history. He also has Most Super Raids (18) and Most Super 10’s (19) to his name in one season. He scored most 8 raid points in one single raid (6 for touches on the players & 2 for the all-out). He scored the most (34) raid points in a single match. Left raider Pardeep is the only player to win Most Valuable Player award twice (Season 4 & 5). Pardeep will play for Patna Pirates in PKL 6.
2) Rahul Chaudhari, Telugu Titans
Telugu Titans’ Rahul Chaudhary is the most successful raider in the history of Pro Kabaddi League. Season 4’s Best Raider Rahul has 170 points to his name from 79 matches. Rahul has scored most 32 super 10’s. Rahul can raid both from left and right side. He is the second player in the list of most 20 Super Raids. Star raider Rahul Chaudhari will be playing from Telugu Titans for 6th consecutive time. This is a record in itself for a player to play for the same team in all seasons till now.
3) Deepak Niwas Hooda, Jaipur Pink Panthers
Raiding all-rounder Deepak Niwas Hooda has 514 raid points and 63 defense points to his name from 81 matches. He is the third player with most points in PKL history. In season 4 he stood up the third position in the list of most raid points. He has done fifth most Super 10’s (14) and Super Raids (14). Deepak will be seen playing for Jaipur Pink Panthers in upcoming season 6 of Pro Kabaddi League.
4) Ajay Thakur, Tamil Thalaivas
Frog jump inventor Ajay Thakur is the third raider with the highest raid points in PKL history. He has He has 549 points to his name from 80 matches. In the inaugural season of PKL Ajay was the 4th best raider. In season 2 & 5 he had finished third in the most raid points scorers table. Escape artist Ajay has 122 do-or-die raid points, which is the most by any player in PKL history. He stands third in the list of players with most Super Raids (18) and Super 10’s (21). In the upcoming season, Ajay will be seen raiding for Tamil Thalaivas.
5) Manjeet Chhillar, Tamil Thalaivas
Mighty Manjeet has claimed 212 raid points and 243 tackle points from 74 matches. He is the leading tackle points scorer in PKL history. Manjeet has been awarded as the ‘Best Defender of The Season’ in season 1 & 3. He was also ‘Most Valuable Player’ in the 2nd edition of PKL. Manjeet has scored most high 5’s (19) (scoring 5 tackle points in one match). This record is jointly held by him and Surender Nada of Haryana Steelers. Block and Dash are the key moves of Manjeet Chillar. He will be seen playing for Tamil Thalaivas in PKL season 6.
6) Surender Nada, Haryana Steelers
Ankle hold specialist Surender Nada is the second most successful defender in PKL history. He was also the Best Defender in season 5. He has clinched 218 tackle points from 70 matches. He is also tied as the player with the highest 5s (19) in the league along with Manjeet Chhillar of Tamil Thalaivas. Nada has done 3rd most Super Tackles (16). It is a record jointly held by Sandeep Narwal of Puneri Paltan. Surender Nada will be donning Haryana Steelers jersey in the upcoming PKL season 6.
7) Sandeep Narwal, Puneri Paltan
Thigh hold and Backhold specialist Sandeep Narwal is the third most successful defenders of PKL history. He has 213 tackle points to his name from 83 matches. He is the 4th player to have score most High 5’s (14). Along with Surender Nada, Sandeep has the record of 3rd most Super Tackles (16). He was the second best defender in season 3. In the upcoming season 6 of PKL, Sandeep will be part of Puneri Paltan’s defense.
8) Meraj Sheykh, Dabang Delhi K.C.
Meraj Sheykh has been one of the best all-rounders of PKL. Meraj has scored 215 raid points and 50 defense points from 63 matches played by him. In season 2, he was the captain of Telugu Titans and was the first foreign player to captain a PKL franchise. Meraj is one of the most reliable players of the league. Like the last two seasons, Dabang Delhi’s raiding will be dependent on his performance. In PKL season 6 Meraj will be part of Delhi’s raiding department.
9) Fazel Atrachali, U Mumba
In the auctions of PKL season 6, Iran Kabaddi Team captain Fazel Atrachali became the first foreign player to be sold for Rs.1 Cr. Iranian right corner Fazel is one of the best foreign players of PKL history. Having 152 tackle points to his name from 56 matches Fazel is successful with his ankle holds and dashes. He was the Best Defender in season in season 4. He is the fifth player with most Super Tackles (12) and most High 5’s (11). Fazel will defend U Mumba in season 6 of PKL.
10) Abozar Mohajermighani, Telugu Titans
Second most expensive foreign player Abozar Mohajermighani performed outstandingly well in his debut season for Gujarat Fortunegiants. This Iranian right corner defender had 65 tackle points to his name from 24 matches. His heroics helped his team Gujarat Fortunegiants to enter the finals. With his powerful blocks and dashes, Abozar Mohajermighani is all ready to set the mat on fire for his new team Telugu Titans in the forthcoming season 6 of PKL.
