68th Senior National Kabaddi Championship: Maharashtra’s start the campaign with a win
The 68th National Kabaddi Championship started in Ayodhya yesterday. A total of 30 state teams have participated in this competition. Maharashtra got off to a flying start with a 49-30 victory over Manipur in the first match.
Maharashtra took the control of this Group H match from the start. From Maharashtra, Rishank Devdiga and Pankaj Mohite both scored Super 10. Captain Shubham Shinde scored 6 tackle points.
In this match, Maharashtra rested their leading raider Siddharth Desai as well as veteran Nilesh Salunke. Speaking to Khel Kabaddi after the match, Maharashtra coach Prashant Surve expressed satisfaction over the team’s performance. He also said that the players in the team are playing according to the strategy.
Maharashtra’s second match will be against Gujarat on April 14.
