V Ajith Kumar, the emerging debutant, who made an impactful debut for Tamil Thalaivas in Season 7 was surprisingly released before PKL 8. It wasn’t first thing Thalaivas did surprising for the auctions, They released the trio of Ajay Thakur, Manjeet Chhillar & Rahul Chaudhari also.

Ajith Kumar who scored 121 crucial raid points including 5 Super 10s was expected to get retained by the Thalaivas but the franchise had some other plans.

Performing under the presence of raiding greats is not everyone’s cup of tea, Ajith Kumar over shadowed the performance of Rahul Chaudhari & Ajay Thakur in his debut season.

The highest raid point scorer for U Mumba in previous season was Abhishek Singh (162 raid points).

The other raiders were not much supportive to Abhishek, Arjun Deshwal (102 raid points) & Rohit Baliyan (50 raid points). The raiding department is looking quite balanced in season 8.
