New team and new record awaits Rohit Kumar
India’s second most viewed league Vivo Pro Kabaddi League is back after two years gap due to covid pandemic. This time league will commence at one destination i.e. Bengaluru from 22nd December. The players were auctioned and now teams are all set for the new season with their new team combinations.
One thing that most kabaddi fans saw as a shock was when PKL 6 title winning captain Rohit Kumar was released by his team Bengaluru Bulls. His base price was set at INR 30 lakhs and in the auctions he was sold to Telugu titans at only 6 lakh more than the base price.
PKL season 3 most valuable player, Rohit Kumar is famous for his running hand touches. He has collected 670 offense points in 91 matches. He is 30 points away from reaching 700 raid points milestone.
As Rohit focused more on his captaincy and team building; he played a role of secondary raider in past two seasons. Still he averages 7.36 points with 36 supers 10s. He was the first player to score more than 30 points in a match when he score 32 points against UP Yodha in season 5. He has scored more than 100 points in every season since his debut in Season 3.
Now with the new team Telagu Titans, he will be playing along with another superstar raider Siddharth Desai. Siddharth is known for his aggressive raiding style. It will be interesting to see how Rohit supports Siddharth Desai in the raiding department.
