And Rohit’s dream of playing for U Mumba remained a dream only

Bengaluru Bulls captain Rohit Kumar has been playing pro kabaddi since the third season. He won the title from Patna Pirates in the third season. He has been playing for Bengaluru Bulls since the fourth season. Under his leadership, the Bengaluru Bulls won the sixth season championship. Even then, Patna or Bengaluru was not Rohit’s first choice of team. Rohit himself informed about this. He was speaking at the Instagram live session ‘Beyond the Mat’ organized by the Pro Kabaddi League.

Speaking on the occasion, Rohit said,

“I have been fascinated by Mumbai since I was a child. So when I heard about pro kabaddi league is going to have Mumbai team, I wanted to play for the same team. Coincidentally U Mumba selected me at the auction. So I was happy.”

Rohit was serving in the Indian Navy at the time. The Navy did not allow it’s players to participate in pro kabaddi. So Rohit’s dream of playing for his favourite team remained a dream.

Further from the third season of Pro Kabaddi, the Navy allowed it’s players to play in Pro Kabaddi and Rohit’s wish to play in Pro Kabaddi was fulfilled.
