Bengaluru Bull’s journey from league matches to the Final of PKL 6

India’s Kabaddi Festival ‘Pro Kabaddi League’ has received a tremendous response since its first edition. After the Indian Premier League (IPL), Pro Kabaddi League is the second most watched and popular sports league in India. Currently, PKL season 6 is underway. Tonight Bengaluru Bulls and Gujarat Fortunegiants will fight with each other for the trophy.

PKL 6 Journey :

Randhir Singh & BC Ramesh coached and Rohit Kumar led Bengaluru Bulls got an amazing start to their journey of PKL 6 as they beat Tamil Thalaivas in their first match with a huge margin 11 points. Pawan Kumar Sehrawat delivered his best performance with 20 raid points. Again they beat Tamil Thalaivas with a deficit of 9 points. Then they got defeated by Puneri Paltan. But made a strong comeback by winning four consecutive games.

U Mumba handed them their second defeat and Gujarat also tied the game against them. Talking about the home leg, they won 3 games and lost 4 at their new home Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Pune. It was assumed that Bulls will qualify for the playoffs early. But due to inconsistency, they had to wait till the match against Telugu Titans on 18th December.

With the win over Telugu as 44-28, Bulls got qualified for the playoffs of PKL 6. In the league stage, Bengaluru Bulls won 13, lost 7 and tied 2 matches. Bengaluru Bulls defeated Tamil Thalaivas, Telugu Titans and UP Yoddha three times each in the entire season. They also topped their Zone B.

Raiding Department :

Lead raider Pawan Kumar Sehrawat has been splendid for them as he is their top raid points scorer. He has got 249 raid points from 23 matches. Kashiling Adake and skipper Rohit Kumar have given good support to him. Kashiling has clinched 65 raid points from 19 matches. After a slow start to the campaign, Rohit came to his own and scored 161 raid points from 23 matches.

Defence :

Earlier Bengaluru Bull’s defence was not complementing their raiding department. After 8 matches their defence got stable with Amit Sheoran’s entry into the squad as a left corner defender. Left Cover Mahender Singh has grabbed a total of 61 tackle points from 23 matches. Right Cover Ashish Kumar has clinched 38 tackle points from 23 matches. Left Corner Amit Sheoran has scored 37 tackle points from 14 games. Right Corner Raju Lal Choudhary has 20 tackle points in 16 games.

Earlier Season’s Performance :

Bengaluru Bulls entered the playoffs after a gap of three seasons. In the first season, they got the fourth position as they lost third-place match against Patna Pirates. U Mumba clinched the title in season 2 after beating Bengaluru Bulls. So they Bulls were the runners-up in PKL 2. After that, they got failed in qualifying for the playoffs in season 3, 4, and 5. In the qualifier 1 Bengaluru Bulls beat Gujarat Fortunegiants and went into the finals after a gap of three seasons.
