Chance for Monu Goyat to create a record in his probable do or die season
Vivo Pro Kabaddi League is back after a huge gap of two years due to covid pandemic. Unlike past seasons, the league will be hold in one city only. Bengaluru will host entire league which is starting from 22nd December. Players were auctioned on 29th, 30th and 31st August.
Monu Goyat became the costliest player in season 6 at whopping amount of 1.51 crores from Haryana Steelers. It was clearly seen that captaincy pressure affected his game in season 6. That was probably the reason why Steelers released him ahead of Season 7. But even after playing as a raider he failed to make his mark in season 7 and thus forcing UP Yoddha to release him before the auction.
This PKL 6 costliest player was unsold in first round of auctions held for season 8. It was the biggest shocker for all Kabaddi fans in the world. After that he was bought by his former team Patna Pirates at base price of 20 lakh. Monu had an amazing season with Pirates in fifth edition where his raids made Patna win third consecutive PKL title.
Talking about numbers Monu has 475 raid points from 73 matches. He is in search of 25 raid points to enter club of 500 raid points. Having 21 super 10s to his name Monu averages 6.25 points per match. Though Monu’s performance is not so great, he and his fans will be hoping to make justice to the faith shown by Patna Pirates.
Performance of Monu Goyat in PKL 7:
65 Raid Points – 14 Matches Played – 2 Super 10s
