Coach Anup Kumar’s vision for Puneri Paltan team in PKL 8
Pro Kabaddi League is about to start in few days. Insurekot Sports Private Limited owns Pro Kabaddi League franchise Puneri Paltan. This Maharashtra based team represents Pune city. For the upcoming season of PKL, team will be led by Nitin Tomar.
As this season will be held without spectators, teams will not be allowed to meet media, fans or other people. To stay engaged with fans, teams are using social media.
Puneri Paltan coach Anup Kumar recently expressed his views about team captaincy. This “Bhaari Talk” video can be seen on team’s social media handles such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
Q: What was your strategy for choosing captain?
A: Most of the captains have a lot of experience. We have seen that in Pro Kabaddi. Nitin Tomar is part of Puneri team since long time now. He is well aware about all the things and management too. When we sat for selecting the captain everyone agreed with Nitin’s name. He is a senior and can build the team very well.
Q: With so many senior players in the team why did you choose Nitin?
A: If talking about senior players both Rahul Chaudhari and Nitin Tomar are our senior players. The reason why we did not select Rahul Chaudhari is personally I want him to play with free mind, with no burden on him about who is playing and who is not. I want him to play fearlessly.
Q: Will the captain and vice-captain justify their roles?
A: Definitely! Because the team is quite good. Captain and vice-captain will play a major role along with other players. Both Nitin and Vishal will play their roles successfully. We have worked a lot on them and now hoping that they will live up to expectations.
