Dadaso Awad & Ketan Gaikwad Will Give Coaching To Maharashtra Boys Team
The Khelo India programme was introduced by the Indian Government in January 2018. It was to revive the sports culture in India at the grass-root level by building a strong framework for all sports played in our country and establish India as a great sporting nation.
This national level talent hunt programme was held in 2018 at Delhi, then at Pune in 2019 and at Guwahati in 2020. Due to covid pandemic the tournament did not take place in 2021. Then it took place in June 2022.
The Indian Central Government in association with Madhya Pradesh State Government to organize 5th Khelo India Games Madhya Pradesh 2022. Kabaddi matches at Khelo India will be played from 5th to 9th February 2023.
Abhay Prashal Sports Club, Indore is the venue for Kabaddi matches at Khelo India Youth Games 2022. Earlier group state matches will be played. Then semi-finals & final matches will be played. Himachal Pradesh boys team & Haryana girls team are the defending champions here.
For this tournament the selection processes & trials were held at state levels. Talking about Kabaddi, Maharashtra state conducted state level tournaments. After that, Maharashtra boys team is finalized by Maharashtra State Kabaddi Association (MSKA).
National medallist & Baramati Sports Academy founder Dadaso Awad is appointed as a coach of boys’ team. Ketan Gaikwad who is the national player will be the assistant coach of boys’ team. Both are NIS coaches. The team will get training from them.
For the girl’s team Geeta Sakhare will be head coach. She is the taluka sports officer & NIS coach. Kishor Bonde who is a NIS coach, will be the assistant coach.
