Deepak Hooda emphasizes on importance of Pro Kabaddi

Indian Kabaddi captain Deepak Hooda has recently made an important statement about the Pro Kabaddi League. Deepak was speaking to Sports Tiger in an interview under ‘Building Bridge’. Deepak said that the Pro Kabaddi League has been a great help in the growth of the game of Kabaddi.

Deepak said, “The huge growth of kabaddi, the popularity of the players came after the start of the Pro Kabaddi League. Before that there were international competitions like the Asian Championships, the World Cup. But very few people watched these competitions. People like to watch what they see on TV.”

Kabaddi was hit hardest by the lockdown caused by Corona. Now kabaddi competitions are slowly starting. Deepak is happy about this. He said, “I was just bored of constantly practicing at home. We wanted to play matches. We were sitting at home but we wanted to play competitive kabaddi.”

Deepak had led India to the 2019 Asian Games. He has been honored with the Arjuna Award for his contribution to Kabaddi. All eyes will be on Deepak’s performance in the upcoming season of Pro Kabaddi League.
