Former Maharashtra Kabaddi player passes away
Manda Parab (Supriya Kadam), who represented Maharashtra in the National Championship for six consecutive years, died of a heart attack. She was 74 years old.
She played Kabaddi for many years with Navyug Krida Mandal in Mumbai. In the National Championship held at Indore in 1966, she was the Vice-Captain of Maharashtra. After retirement, she also coached the Maharashtra team in 1970-71.
Getting a chance in a national kabaddi tournament is considered a big thing. Manda Parab had played not once or twice but in six consecutive national tournaments.
She held the post of vice-captain of Maharashtra and later as coach in six major national tournaments in a row. She was good at chasing and kicking players.
