Haryana Steelers Celebrate Coach Manpreet Singh’s 100th Pro Kabaddi League Win
Mumbai, September 22: The Haryana Steelers marked a landmark moment as Head Coach Manpreet Singh secured his 100th win in the Pro Kabaddi League, achieved in the team’s victory against Tamil Thalaivas on September 20th. The win also extended the Steelers’ run to four consecutive victories, a streak the team is determined to carry forward.
A stalwart of Indian kabaddi, Manpreet has been part of the league since its early years, guiding multiple teams to the playoffs and building a reputation for nurturing young talent. His milestone win with the Steelers reflects not only his tactical acumen but also his ability to shape a competitive, spirited side season after season.
The team also faces a significant change with Naveen Kumar ruled out of PKL Season 12 due to injury. Naveen has won the hearts of fans and teammates alike with his performances, and his absence will be deeply felt. The Steelers will miss his presence on the mat but continue to rally in his spirit. Stepping into the squad is all-rounder Ashish Narwal, who will add strength to the unit alongside raiders Shivam Patare, Vinay Tevathia, and Mayank Saini. The defence continues to remain solid with the leadership of Captain Jaideep and the consistency of the Rahul’s, giving the squad a balanced mix of impactful raiders and resolute defenders.
Speaking on the milestone and the squad change, Coach Manpreet Singh said “Reaching 100 wins in PKL is a proud moment for me, but it’s not just my achievement – it belongs to every player I have worked with over the years. To share this joy, I even distributed sweets to the media today. At the same time, it’s tough to see Naveen step away this season due to injury. He has been a fighter who gave everything for the team, and we will miss him deeply. But I have full faith in the boys stepping up, and I’m confident we will continue to grow stronger together. With four wins on the trot, this group has shown its spirit, and I believe the streak is only going to continue.”
With renewed energy and unity, the Steelers look ahead to the upcoming matches determined to build on their momentum.
