Haryana Steelers Team Analysis For Pro Kabaddi Season 6

The JSW Sports owned and Rambir Singh Khokhar coached Haryana Steelers is a team that was introduced for the first time in Pro Kabaddi League season 5. Despite being a fairly new side they were successful in reaching the playoffs. However, Haryana Steelers made headlines after buying Monu Goyat at a mammoth price of Rs.1.51 Crore which proved to be the costliest buy in the history of Pro Kabaddi League.

Haryana Steelers surprised Kabaddi fans after they retained Kuldeep Singh over players like Surender Nada and Mohit Chhillar. They got successful in bagging Nada but failed to bring back Mohit Chhillar. For the upcoming 6th season of PKL Haryana has made a squad of 16 players.

Here is a complete analysis of the Haryana Steelers squad :

There are a total of 7 raiders in the team. Monu Goyat, the most expensive player, has managed to score 202 points in 26 matches in season 5. He played for Patna Pirates team in season 5.

Players like Wazir Singh and Vikash Kandola who were part of Haryana in last season will also be seen in Haryana jersey this season. Wazir Singh got to score 120 points in 21 matches.

Vikash Kandola one of the emerging players of PKL has 61 points to his name in just 13 matches played by him.

Arun Kumar, Anand Tomar, Bhuvneshwar Gaur, and Md. Zakir Hossain will also be part of the raiding unit of the Steelers.

Overall, the raiding side of Haryana Steelers looks splendid.

Surender Nada, Sachin Shingade, Vikas, Neeraj Kumar, and Amit Singh are the 5 defenders in the team.

Surender Nada is one of the best defenders of PKL. His stats say it all. He has scored 239 points in 70 matches. He topped the list of most tackle points last season grabbing 80 points in 21 matches.

However, the SU-MO (Surender Nada and Mohit Chhillar) combination which proved to be crucial for Haryana in reaching the semifinals last season, will not be seen anymore as they missed out to buy Mohit Chhillar.

Sachin Shingade, former Patna Pirates player will be representing Haryana this season. But he had a poor performance in last season with just 22 tackle points from 26 matches.

Apart from Surender and Sachin Vikas, Neeraj Kumar, and Amit Singh will defend Haryana Steelers in the approaching season of PKL.

Defense looks a bit weak with which only Surender Nada looks dependable for the team.

Kuldeep Singh who was retained by Haryana Steelers will show his all-rounding skills. Patrick Nzau Muvai from Kenya will also be part of the team.

Other than these two, Mayur Shivtarkar and Prateek are other all-rounders also in the Haryana squad.

Haryana Steelers has signed only 16 players. Whereas the minimum required figure was 18. This can cost them if any key player gets injured. Overall Haryana Steelers team has a very good raiding side. But defense can create problems for them. Captain and Coach will have to set the right combination for the team.
