HPU Shimla became champion at All India Inter University Women’s Kabaddi Championship
Govind Guru Tribal Universityu, Banswara, Rajasthan had organised All India Inter University Women’s Kabaddi Championship. The competition was held at Indoor Stadium, Govind Guru Tribal Universityu, Banswara, Rajasthan from 3rd to 6th March 2022.
Pushpa Rana captained Himachal Pradesh University Shimla emerged as a champion there. It was their third consecutive title. Sakshi Sharma won the ‘Best Defender’ award. The team crushed Kurukshetra University in the final match.
Before that Himachal Pradesh University had defeated Mother Teressa Kodaikanal University to enter the finals. Same way Kurukshetra University won against Maharshi Dayanand University Rohtak & had qualified for the finals.
Himachal Pradesh University has been dominating the tournament. Under the guidance of Dr. Gopal Dasta, the team was trained in Dhami College before this tournament. Over 16 teams from all zones of India had participated in this tournament.
This tournament has been significant for respective states to finalise their teams for Women’s Senior National Kabaddi Championship. They can take into considerations best performers in their teams.
