I was not ready for the captaincy –  Maninder Singh

Maninder Singh said he was not ready to take over the captaincy of the Bengal Warriors in the seventh season of Pro Kabaddi. He was speaking at an Instagram live session hosted by a website. Under Maninder’s leadership, Bengal won the seventh season of Pro Kabaddi.
How did you feel when the Bengal team management handed over the captaincy in the seventh season of Pro Kabaddi? a question was asked to Maninder. Answering, he said,

“I felt a little weird when they told me that you were going to be the captain of the team. Then I called my brother and said, ‘I don’t want to be the captain.’ It was my brother who convinced me and gave me confidence. He told me, “Just make sure you play well. Everything else will be fine.” After that, everything went well. I had fun as a captain.”

“In the first match in Bengal, I told everyone that this is my first match as captain. So everyone tries to win by playing well. We won this match with UP Yodha. From there, there was no stopping for us and we won the title.

Maninder leading from the front scored 205 points in 20 matches of the 7th season of Pro Kabaddi. This included one Super 10 and six Super Raid.
