In a one-sided battle, Giants comfortably defeat Yoddhas
Gujarat Fortune Giants delivered yet another clinical performance as they outplayed UP Yoddha in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 7 match in Hyderabad on Friday. All-rounder Rohit Gulia completed his first super-10 of the league to enable Giants record a resounding 44-19 win to go on the top of the table.
Parvesh Bhainswal’s yet another high-five proved crucial for the Giants, as Yoddhas’ raiding unit which had likes of experienced Monu Goyat and Shrikant Jadhav failed to score points. Bhainswal completed his high-5 with a superb ankle hold of Jadhav. Such was the dominance of the Giants that they conceded only 12 raid points in the match.
Gulia who has been raiding under the shadows of lead raider Sachin Tanwar was outstanding in his performance. Gulia displayed his acrobatic skills especially in the do-or-die situations, collecting 11 points in the match. On the night when Sachin scored six points with his signature running-hand touches and escaping skills, it was Gulia who made a huge impact on the game. In the 12th minute of the match, Gujarat inflicted the first all-out when Gulia sent a lone UP defender back to the bench.
In the do-or-die raid in 23rd minute of the match, Rohit Gulia returned with two touchpoints to put Gujarat in the driving seat as they inflicted the second all-out. Yoddhas defenders tried their best and managed to tackle G B More and Sachin Tanwar occasionally but their efforts were too little and too late. With three minutes left on the clock, Gujarat inflicted the third all-out to put the match out of reach for the Yoddhas.
