K Prapanjan’s Unbelievable journey in PKL
As we are in the last month of the year 2021, we are just 20 days away from watching India’s second most viewed league i.e. Pro Kabaddi League. Due to Covid pandemic, the league did not happen for two years. Now that everything is getting back to normal PKL 8 is set to start from 22nd December.
For Pro Kabaddi season 8, a franchise from south India, Tamil Thalaivas released big names like Ajay Thakur, Manjeet Chhillar, and Rahul Chaudhari. On the other hand, they made some good and productive buys like PO Surjeet Singh, K Prapanjan, Manjeet Dahiya and Ajinkya Pawar.
Tamil Thalaivas purchased K Prapanjan for Rs. 71 lakh. K Prapanjan is considered as one of the improved players in Pro Kabaddi. This raider has learned from his own mistakes and improved himself over the years.
He made his debut with U Mumba in season 2. But due to lack of place in the starting seven he did not get chance to prove himself there. The same thing happened with him in season 3. In season 4 he got chance to play for Telugu Titans but he could not do much there as well scoring mere 12 points in 11 games.
Season 5 was the turning point of his PKL career. For Tamil Thalaivas he shined by clinching 123 raid points from 22 matches. For the season 6, he moved to Gujarat Giants. There he was able to score 122 raid points in 22 matches. He was part of Bengal Warriors’ title winning campaign in PKL 7 as he had scored 102 raid points in 20 matches.
Though his numbers in season 7 are less than they were in previous two seasons, he also played less matches in PKL 7 than PKL 5 and 6. Also he scored the points whenever his team Bengal Warriors needed. Master of running hand touch, Prapanjan has a total of 366 raid points in 83 matches played. He has scored 10 super 10s and his average is 4.4 raid points per match.
Prapanjan will be looking forward to repeat his performance in PKL 8. When we talk about Thalaivas rading department, Prapanjan and Manjeet are top names. Their coordination will be significant for the team. In the forthcoming season, Prapanjan will be crucial player for Thalaivas in order to lift the trophy.
