Kabaddi coach Raju Bhavsar receives award

Kabaddi coach Raju Bhavsar has been awarded the Captain Shivrampant Damle Award by the Maharashtrian Mandal in Pune. The award is given annually by the Maharashtrian Mandal to individuals who have made outstanding achievements in the fields of sports, fitness, military and education. These awards have been given by the organization since 1998.

Arjun Bhavsar is a former player of the Indian Kabaddi team. He was a member of the Indian Kabaddi team that won a gold medal at the 9th Asian Games in Beijing in 1990. He was awarded the Arjuna Award by the Government of India in 1996 for his contribution to Kabaddi. The Government of Maharashtra has also honoured him with the Shiv Chhatrapati Award. He is currently serving Air India. Bhavsar has also coached the Maharashtra women’s team. He appears as a kabaddi expert in various competitions like Pro Kabaddi League. He also conducted training webinar-like activities for kabaddi players in the lockdown period.

The award will be in the form of Rs 25,000 in cash, a shawl, a coconut and a memento. The date of the award ceremony has not been announced yet.
