Kabaddi hit by Corona as well – Simple celebration on cards for Kabaddi Day
The Maharashtra State Kabaddi Association celebrates the birthday of ‘Kabaddi Maharshi’ Shankarao Salvi i.e. Buwa Salvi every year as ‘Kabaddi Day’. District Kabaddi Associations affiliated to Maharashtra State Kabaddi Association have also been celebrating this day for the last 20 years. This year, however, due to the spread of Corona in the state, the office-bearers of the organization have decided to celebrate this event with simplicity.
On the day of Kabaddi Day, the event will be celebrated on July 15 at the office of the State Kabaddi Association at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maidan, Dadar, Mumbai. On this occasion, the working president of Maharashtra State Kabaddi Association and former president of Upnagar Kabaddi Association Hon. MP Gajanan Kirtikar will be offering a wreath to Buwa Salvi’s photo. Aswad Patil, secretary of the state association, has appealed to the district associations in Mumbai and all the affiliated district associations to observe this ‘Kabaddi Day’ and pay homage to their Buwa Salvi’s work in their respective districts and talukas wherever possible.
