Maharashtra Women Players Face Injustice In The State Team Selection Process
Maharashtra State Kabaddi Association (MSKA) is affiliated with Amateur Kabaddi Federation Of India (AKFI).
MSKA Secretary Gajanan Kirtikar has written letter to MSKA president Ajit Pawar. He is deputy chief minister of Maharashtra. According to letter written by Gajanan Kirtikar, There is a complete mess in the selection process of Senior Women’s team.
Chief Associate Baburao Chandere’s interference in the selection process is depriving some women’s players from taking part in traning camp.
Every year MSKA organises state level championships. Best performers from this Championship, represents the state in Senior National Championship conducted by AKFI.
70th State Level Championship was conducted from 27th to 30th December 2022 at Ahmednagar. 20 best performing women’s players were selected for traning camp for Senior Nationals.
Ankita Jagtap, Pooja Shelar, Samruddhi Kolekar (State level championship winner Pune team), Pooja Patil (Palghar), Siddhi Chalke (Ratnagiri), Sayli Jadhav (Mumbai Suburban), Rutuja Bodivdekar (Dhule) & Pratiksha Tandel (Mumbai City) were selected for traning camp.
But these players were not called for traning camps. Instead of these players, other women players who were not part of state level championship, were called for traning camp. Even the selection committee was also not informed about the traning camp.
Secretary Gajanan Kirtikar has put above allegations against Chief Associate Baburao Chandere.
