Maharashtra’s team as good as North teams

The Maharashtra Kabaddi team left for Ayodhya today for the national tournament. This time, the coach of the team Prashant Surve said that his team is as good as teams from the north. He expressed the belief that our team can silence these teams. He was talking to Loksatta.

The Maharashtra team will be challenged by two strong teams, Railways and Services. However, we are equally good as Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, he said. The team has experienced players like Siddharth Desai, Girish Ernak, Rishank Devadiga, Nilesh Salunke. Three Maharashtra players could not get a place in the team due to corona contraction. Surve said that team will miss those defenders. However, he also said that the back up defense of Maharashtra is just as capable. Along with Girish and Shubham, Mayur Kadam and Sudhakar Kadam are also in the squad.
