Mohit Chhillar: The anchor of a defense unit

With over 209 tackle points from 77 matches to his name, right-corner Mohit Chhillar has been a vital part of every team he is associated with. Anchoring the right corner for his team, Mohit Chhillar is a versatile defender who can anchor any defensive setup. He was the costliest player in season 3 with a bid of Rs. 53 Lakh.

Hailing from Nizampur, which is known as the ‘Kabaddi Capital of India’, Mohit started playing Kabaddi due to his uncle Sanjay Chhillar who was International Kabaddi Player. And he decided to make his career in Kabaddi. Mohit started playing from Rajasthan instead of Delhi where he got fame at a National level and after that was chosen for U Mumba in PKL season 6.

With his blocks, thigh hold and dashes, he has been proved to be a nightmare for raiders. Mohit scored 35 tackle points from 16 matches. He was very impressive in the inaugural season of PKL. Behind U Mumba’s victory in the season 2, Mohit claimed 42 tackle points from 14 matches.

In season 3, he was successful in getting 43 tackle points from 13 matches. Mohit was brought by Bengaluru Bulls in season 4 where he scored 47 tackle points from 14 matches. In season 5 he did not perform up to the expectations of fans and could take only 39 tackle points from 20 matches. He also has 17 High 5s in the league so far with just two other players having more. Mohit is third in the list of players with the most Super Tackles.

Mohit brought the nation glory by winning the Gold medal at South Asian Games, Kabaddi World Cup, 2017 Asian Kabaddi Championships and 2018 Kabaddi Masters.

Mohit formed a successful partnership with left-corner Surender Nada in defense in the previous season where they played from Haryana Steelers. Unfortunately, this season the duo has split, where Nada will play with Haryana Steelers and Mohit will be donning the Jaipur Pink Panthers jersey in the upcoming season 6 of Pro Kabaddi League. Season 6 of PKL will be starting from 7th October 2018.
