Mumbai City & Pune City Emerged As Winners At 70th Men’s & Women’s State Kabaddi Championships Maharashtra
Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India will organize Senior National Kabaddi Championships in the upcoming months. For that, State Kabaddi Associations have started selection process on state level.
Maharashtra State Kabaddi Association & Ahmednagar District Amateur Kabaddi Association has conducted 70th Men’s & Women’s State Kabaddi Championships & Selection Trials.
The competition was held from 27th to 30th December. Ahmednagar district was the venue of this competition. Mumbai City in men’s category & Pune City in women’s category won the titles here.
In men’s category Mumbai City won title as they thrashed Ahmednagar in the final match. The match was tie in 40 minutes. Then after also it was draw when 5-5 raids to both the teams.
Then golden raid was given to both teams where also the score was equal. In the second golden raid, Mumbai City raider Sushant Sail scored a bonus point.
Mumbai City won the title here. Before that Mumbai City defeated Mumbai Suburban 38-34 in the semi-final. The game was tie in 40 minutes.
In 5-5 raids to both teams Mumbai City defeated Mumbai Suburb. In the semi-final, Ahmednagar cruise past Naded 35-26.
Pune women’s team defeated Mumbai City women’s team 30-29 in the final match. It is their 15th title out of last 17 State Kabaddi Championship Tournament.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Pune city crushed Nandurbar City 37-16 & Mumbai City managed to defeat Palghar 56-28 to reach the final of 70th State Kabaddi Championships.
20 best performers from the State Level Championship will be part of state team for Senior National Tournament. This tournament will decide the teams of Maharashtra at Senior National.
