Naveen Kumar: Dabang Delhi’s raiding sensation
Pro Kabaddi League is the biggest festival in Kabaddi world. The response which PKL gets is huge. It is the second most viewed sports league in India. Since 2014 PKL has given so many talented players to India. One such young and talented player is Dabang Delhi KC superstar Naveen Kumar.
Hailing from Haryana, Naveen Kumar is not a new name for any Kabaddi fan out there. He is the first 2000 born player to play in Pro Kabaddi League. Due to his speedy footwork he is known as ‘Naveen Express’ among the fans.
Naveen Kumar marked his PKL debut at the age of 18. In season 6 he was signed by Dabang Delhi KC. He scored 177 raid points in 22 matches with 8 Super 10s. Due to his performance Delhi was able to make it to the playoffs for the first time.
After a memorable debut season with Delhi team PKL season 7 was unforgettable for him. Naveen became the third most raid points scorer in PKL 7. Also he was one of third players who got 300 raid points in a season.
Running hand touch specialist Naveen has taken 473 raid points in just 45 matches i.e. two seasons. His average is 10.51 raid points per match. He has the record of ‘Most Super 10’s In a Single Season’ to his name. In the last season he scored 22 super 10s.
Naveen took his team into the finals of PKL 7. But he had to satisfy with the runners up position. He won ‘Most Valuable Player’ award in PKL 7. There was no doubt that Dabang Delhi team will extend his contract for the season 8 and they did it too. Once again Naveen Express will play for Delhi.
In the upcoming season of PKL, Naveen will continue raiding as a prime raider of Delhi team. He has got partners like Ajay Thakur, Ashu Malik, Emad Sadaghatnia, Neeraj Narwal and Sushant Sail in the raiding department.
Dabang Delhi’s PKL campaign in PKL 8 lies on how Naveen plays. On 23rd December Dabang Delhi KC will play their first match in PKL 8 against Puneri Paltan. Naveen will be looking forward to give his best and clinch the trophy for Delhi team.
