PKL 7 Performance Series: 3 Time Champions need to evaluate last 2 season performance to excel further

Patna Pirates, 3 times campions of PKL 3,4,5 but were unable to make it to the playoffs in last 2 seasons. During the auction for this season, they decided to part ways with their star player Pardeep Narwal. The team management has tried their best to fulfill his place into the squad.

In this article, we will have a look at their last season performance with certain metrices through an analysis.

Analysis of Raiding & Other Metrics

The pirates in the last season, scored 774 points in total in both raiding and defending unit while they conceded 745 points in total. Eventually they ended at bottom portion on table.

On the other hand, in raiding department they scored 447 points with 354 successful raids which shows us their conversion rate from 1 point to multiple points is amazing. This helped them finish on 5th position in terms of most number raiding points. While with respect to Avg score, Avg raid points and Do-or-Die raid points they scored 30.5,20.3,78 respectively. Thus, they finished their campaign in league stage last season.

Analysis of Defending & Other Metrics

The Pirates scored 225 points with 196 successful tackles which displays their conversion rate in defense is just brilliant as compared to other teams. In terms of All out metrices, they inflicted 34 All-outs and conceded 26 All-outs throughout the tournament which is quite surprising that they couldn’t qualify in further season.

However, When it comes to game changing metrices i.e. Super raids and Super tackles Patna Pirates is in top 2 teams of table with (16 super raids) and in top 3 teams of table with 29 super tackles which displays they fall in situation like super tackle more number of times and were not able to maintain maximum number of players consistently on mat. Finally, in terms of Avg tackles points they scored 10.23 points which sends them on upper portion of table. Hopefully, they will maintain this metric ahead of season 8.
