PKL’s new Poster Boy: Siddharth Desai

U Mumba’s raiding sensation Siddharth Desai has become a popular name for all Kabaddi fans. He has created his own fan following and name due to his unbelievable performance in PKL season 6. Siddharth Desai celebrates his 27th birthday today. He was born on 5th December 1991 and hails from Hundalewadi, Kolhapur, Maharashtra.

He started playing Kabaddi from his school days. His father, brother plays Kabaddi and that inspired Siddharth to play Kabaddi. He was selected in Air India after his consistently good performance while playing for Tejas Team, Baner, Pune. U Mumba added him in their squad for this season due to his heroics at National Championships.

In his very first match against Puneri Paltan Siddharth had 15 raid points to his name. Then after he never looked back again. One by one he clinched many records to his name. Running hand touch is the signature move of Siddharth Desai. He is the fastest player to score 50 raid points in PKL history. He and also jointly holds the record with Rahul Chaudhari of scoring fastest 100 raid points. Both took 9 matches to complete 100 raid points.

Siddharth became the first player to score 150 raid points in the sixth edition of PKL. And also he is the fourth player in PKL history to have 150 raid points in maiden PKL appearance. With 178 raid points to his name from 16 matches, U Mumba’s Siddarth Desai is the top raider of PKL 6 as of now. All his fans will be wishing the same performance by him for the rest of the season.
