Puneri Paltan qualifies for the playoffs
Tonight on the fourth day of week nine in Vivo Pro Kabaddi League eighth edition, Puneri Paltan became the fifth team after Patna Pirates, UP Yoddha, Dabang Delhi K.C., Bengaluru Bulls & Gujarat Giants to qualify for the playoffs.
Puneri Paltan defeated inaugural champions Jaipur Pink Panthers 37-30. In the third match of tonight Patna Pirates beat Haryana Steelers & it was clear that Puneri Paltan has officially qualified for the knockout stage.
Aslam Inamdar is team’s top raider in this season with 159 raid points in 22 matches. Skipper Nitin Tomar, Mohit Goyat & Rahul Chaudhari are other raiders in the team.
Vice-captain Vishal Bhardwaj is team’s top defender with 44 tackle points in 19 matches. Sanket Sawant, Abinesh Nadarajan & Sombir are the other defenders in the squad.
Paltan has played 22 matches. They stand at sixth position in point’s table with 12 wins, 9 losses & 1 tie to their name. The team will play eliminator match against UP Yoddha on 21st February at 7.30 pm.
