Record breaker Naveen all set for a new record in PKL 8
Coronavirus pandemic put a halt on sports activities. Though the pandemic is not over yet sports activities are resumed. With this Vivo Pro Kabaddi League will be hold after a break of two years. The league will take place at Bengaluru from 22nd December. The auction for upcoming PKL season was held on 29th, 30th and 31st August.
Pro Kabaddi has always been a great platform and discovered new talents over the years. We have seen many players like Rahul Chaudhari, Monu Goyat, Pardeep Narwal, Deepak Hooda who performed well and got an opportunity to represent India at international level. These players are popular among the fans now.
In season 6 new star named Naveen Kumar was born. In his debut season young Naveen notched 172 raid points in 22 matches. Dabang Delhi KC was able to reach knockout stage for the first time in their history due to his amazing performance.
Season 7 turned out be the most memorable season for him where he scored 301 raid points in 23 matches. His game was one of the reasons behind Delhi’s back to back successful PKL campaigns. Naveen Kumar has the record for the most Super 10s (22) in a season (PKL 7).
Till now Naveen has scored has 473 raid points in 45 matches. He is only 27 points away to mark 500 raid points in PKL career. His average in raids is 10.51 points per match and has 30 super 10s to his name. These numbers are enough to tell us why Dabang Delhi team retained him for season 8. They must be hoping him to continue his form in PKL 8.
