Rohit Kumar: The Centurion of Pro Kabaddi League
It won’t be unfair to call him the Centurion of Pro Kabaddi League. He has scored more than 100 raid points in each season since his debut in season 3. He always stands for the team even without getting any support, one of the most consistent players of PKL, Rohit Kumar.
Hailing from Nizampur, the Kabaddi Capital of India, Rohit Kumar is one of the best raiders of the league. He has scored 414 raid points and 26 defense points from 48 matches. He has scored a century of points in each season since his debut in season 3.
Season 5 was the most successful season for Rohit where he scored 231 points in 22 matches, the second highest in the season. In that season he became the first player to score 30 points in a PKL match when he picked up 32 points against U.P. Yoddha in Season 5.
In his debut season with Patna Pirates Rohit clinched 109 points from 12 matches. His raiding heroics helped Patna Pirates lift the trophy and he was adjudged the Most Value Player of Season 3. He supported Pardeep Narwal very well. In season 4 Rohit switched to Bengaluru Bulls where he was successful in getting 100 points from 14 matches. Unlike season 3 Rohit played like a lone warrior for the Bulls.
In just 3 seasons, he has already risen to number four in the list of players with the most Super 10s in the league (18). He is also tied as the player with the second most Super 10’s (12) in the previous season along with Ajay Thakur of Tamil Thalaivas. In season 3, he topped the chart of players with most Super 10’s (5).
Rohit was part of the Indian National Kabaddi team which won Gold at 2017 Asian Kabaddi Championship and 2018 Kabaddi Masters. He also represents Services in senior National Kabaddi tournaments.
Over the years, he has also proved his leadership ability due to which he was selected as a captain of Bengaluru Bulls in season 4. He has the capacity to remain calm under pressure. Rohit will once again be part of Bulls’ raiding side. In the forthcoming 6th season of PKL, Bengaluru Bulls led by Rohit Kumar will play their first match against Tamil Thalaivas on 10th October 2018.
