Sandeep Kandola to make a comeback in PKL8
Kabaddi is a sport which became popular in a very short time. Back in 2014, Mashal Sports reinvented this game and presented it before the Indians. Players were brought into auctions, teams were formed, and they competed with each other for that glorious trophy of Pro Kabaddi League. This new avatar of Kabaddi was loved by the audience.
Players like Rakesh Kumar, Anup Kumar, Navneet Gautam, Manjeet Chhillar and Ajay Thakur who have made India proud on international level got well deserved recognition. Rahul Chaudhari, Pardeep Narwal, Surender Nada, Ravinder Pahal, Deepak Niwas Hooda became stars overnight. These are finds of Pro Kabaddi League.
2015 was a year when Pro Kabaddi League season two was held. U Mumba had won the title while Bengaluru Bulls was the runners up. Kashiling Adake was the ‘Best Raider’ and Ravinder Pahal had won the ‘Best Defender’ award. The player who had grabbed everyone’s attention was Season 2 ‘Best Debutant award winner’ Sandeep Kandola.
Sandeep had scored 59 tackle points in 16 games and had 6 High5 to his name. It was his first PKL season. He made his debut with Telugu Titans. His ankle holds from the left corner stunned many ace raiders of PKL. That season was all about Sandeep Kandola. He was the second in defense points tally. After that he did not appear in PKL due to knee injury.
He marked his comeback in the National Kabaddi tournaments. While playing for Services in 67th and 68th Senior National Championship Sandeep won Silver medal. In the auctions happened for season 8, Telugu Titans spent a whopping Rs. 59.50 lakh for Sandeep. This move by the Titans raised eyebrows of everyone. But it also shows how a team management trusts their players.
The major challenge for Sandeep will be to have the perfect timing with Titans defense. He must be looking forward to prove himself. On the first day of season 8 Telugu Titans will play Southern derby against Tamil Thalaivas. Pro Kabaddi League season eight will kick off from 22nd December at Bengaluru.
