Siddharth Desai to rule out of the 66th Men’s Senior National Kabaddi Championship?
Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) recognized and Maharashtra State Kabaddi Association organized 66th Men’s Senior National Kabaddi Championship will take place in Roha tehsil of Raigad district from 28th January to 31st January 2019.
Pro Kabaddi League 6 star raider Siddharth Desai will not represent Maharashtra in the forthcoming Nationals. Siddharth Desai, who was the hero of Maharashtra’s title win at 65th Senior National Kabaddi Championship was wishing to play from Maharashtra in 66th Kabaddi Nationals.
12 players including Siddharth Desai were selected from Maharashtra’s camp of 30 players which was organized by Raigad District Kabaddi Association from 13th January at Nagothane, Alibaug, Raigad. But Siddharth Desai is a player of Railways team. He participated in 68th All India Inter Railway Kabaddi Championship and had a major contribution in the win of his represented South Central Railway team. He was also awarded Best Player of the Tournament award.
For playing in Maharashtra team Siddharth resigned from the Railways. But his resignation is not accepted by them. So he will not play from Maharashtra as Railways has not given NOC (No Objection Certificate) to him. As well as the all technical formalities are also not completed.
Meanwhile, the only hope for Desai fans is that if Railways picks him in their team. But as Siddharth attended Maharashtra team’ camp he was absent for the Railways team camp which is being held in Mumbai. And due to this, he may not be in the Railways squad for the nationals. If Railways don’t select him Kabaddi fans will not see Siddharth Desai in 66th Men’s Senior National Kabaddi Championship.
