Sri Lanka may host the Pro Kabaddi League
Due to Corona, this year’s season of Pro Kabaddi League has been postponed indefinitely. Given the current situation in India, it is not certain when the Pro Kabaddi League will take place. It is rumoured that the league could be held in Sri Lanka. According to Ceylon Today, the Pro Kabaddi League could be held in Sri Lanka in October-November this year.
Sri Lanka Kabaddi President Anura Pathirana informed about this. He said
“We have spoken to sources related to pro kabaddi. We told them that we are ready to hold a pro kabaddi league in Sri Lanka. They have also supported the idea. Therefore, Sri Lanka has a good opportunity to host the pro kabaddi league season in October-November.”
Speaking on the participation of Sri Lankan players in the Pro Kabaddi League, Pathirana said,
“Three Sri Lankan players participated in the early seasons of Pro Kabaddi. But now if the Pro Kabaddi League is held in Sri Lanka, we expect this number to increase.”
The hosting of the Pro Kabaddi League in Sri Lanka will further help increase the popularity of Kabaddi in this country.
