The real quality for Kabaddi in municipal schools – Raju Bhavsar
“The real quality for Kabaddi is in the municipal schools.” said senior Kabaddi coach and Arjuna Award winner Raju Bhavsar. Raju Bhavsar was recently awarded the ‘Captain Shivrampant Damle Memorial Sports Award’. He was speaking at the awards ceremony.
“Students in municipal schools need help and guidance at the right time. If they are introduced to kabaddi, they will get the right direction. For this, the Maharashtra Mandal should take the initiative and start a kabaddi school. Students should be given kabaddi training in this school.” he said. He opined that from such a kabaddi school, India can get good kabaddi players from Pune.
The award was announced to Bhavsar last month. The award consists of Rs 25,000 in cash and a shawl. Bhavsar has provided guidance on various issues related to Kabaddi through a medium like Instagram Live during the lockdown.
