These Marathi players might be seen in National Team
Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) has announced the women’s Kabaddi team camp for upcoming international events. This team camp will commence from 7th December 2021 and will continue till 27th December 2021, at India Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi.
Over 36 woman’s team across the country have been given opportunity to participate in this camp. Though it is not clear at the moment for which tournament this camp is being held, the players have been asked to be present for the camp. There is a speculation that the camp is for Asian Games 2022 for which dates and schedule is not yet clear.
Three players from Maharashtra are going to be part of this camp. Sonali Shingte who represents Indian Railway team, Neha Ghadage who hails from Maharashtra but is part of Goa team and Megha Kadam who is Maharashtra team player are selected for this camp. These are the only Maharashtrian players who may get a chance to play for India at international level.
This camp will be taking place, under the coaching of former Woman’s Kabaddi player and Padma Shri awardee Dr. Sunil Dabas. Shortlisted players will be part of Indian National Woman’s Kabaddi team.
