Top 5 Defenders Which Marked Successful PKL Debut
Vivo Pro Kabaddi League season eight is over now. The league has got new champion in the form of Dabang Delhi K.C. In this eighth season, there were many players who delivered some & memorable performances. Mohammadreza Chiyaneh, Jaideep, Rinku, Aman & Sahul Kumar are the defenders who were successful in their debut PKL season.
Young defenders who made their debut successful in PKL 8:
1) Mohammadreza Chiyaneh – Patna Pirates
Iranian defender & most expensive overseas player Mohammadreza Chiyaneh is the most tackle points scorer in his debut PKL edition. He was the part of 2018 Kabaddi Masters Silver Medal Winning Iranian Team. He has scored 89 tackle points from 24 games. He has 3 Super Tackles & 10 High 5’s to his name. He won ‘Defender of The Season’ award. His defense from his left corner position made Patna Pirates runner up in this season.
2) Jaideep – Haryana Steelers
Haryana Steeler’s left cover & top defender Jaideep was the top defender for his team SAI at Junior National Championship. He has notched up 66 tackle points from 22 matches. He has 5 Super Tackles & 5 High 5’s to his name. Jaideep made successful debut in the league. Unfortunately Haryana could not make it to the playoffs.
3) Rinku – U Mumba
Rinku has won Khelo India Games Gold medal for Haryana. He clinched 60 tackle points from 22 matches. He scored 4 High 5’s & 7 Super Tackles. He was the top defender for U Mumba in this season. But unfortunately his team U Mumba could not make it to playoffs.
4) Aman – Bengaluru Bulls
Aman has won Gold medal for Haryana at Khelo India Games. Left corner Aman clinched 53 tackle points in 23 games. He has 1 High 5 & 2 Super Tackles to his name in PKL 8. He was a part of Bengaluru’s stable defensive combinations. Bengaluru Bulls went into semi-final in PKL 8.
5) Sahul Kumar – Jaipur Pink Panthers
Sahul Kumar has given many astonishing performances at national level tournaments. He was added in Jaipur Pink Panthers team. Sahul Kumar took 45 tackle points from 18 matches. He scored 1 High 5 & 2 Super Tackles in PKL 8. Unfortunately Jaipur Pink Panthers did not qualified for the playoffs.
