Top 5 Successful Debutants of PKL 6

Pro Kabaddi League season is won by Bengaluru Bulls. It has been a memorable journey with thrilling matches, individual performances and sizzling atmosphere at the venues. The league has been a new platform for youngsters to show their Kabaddi skills. Here a player becomes a star with an impressive performance in just one match.

Many players like Rahul Chaudhari, Deepak Hooda, Rishank Devadiga, Girish Ernak, Mohit Chhillar have emerged from Pro Kabaddi. They also got the chance to represent the Indian team and brought glory to the nation. Each season witnesses some young players who put up a great show.

In the sixth edition of PKL, there were many players who delivered some match-winning and memorable performances. Some of them played their maiden PKL. Siddharth Desai, Naveen Kumar, Ruturaj Koravi, Naveen and Manjeet are the players who have made this season to their names.

Young players who made their debut successful in PKL season 6:

1) Siddharth Desai –  U Mumba

U Mumba added Siddharth Desai in their squad due to his heroics at National Championships. He cliched 218 raid points from 21 matches. He has scored 12 Super 10’s and 10 Super Raids with an impressive average of 10.38 raid points. He is the fastest player to score 50 raid points in PKL history and also jointly holds the record with Rahul Chaudhari of scoring fastest 100 raid points. Siddharth has got ‘Debutant of the Season’ award for his successful debut at the PKL.

2) Naveen Kumar – Dabang Delhi K.C. 

Naveen Kumar is the youngest player in PKL 6 and the first player born in the 21st century to play in the league. He is the second youngest player to score Super 10. Naveen is very successful with his running hand touches. Naveen was now top raider for Delhi. Naveen has the ability to pick up points in crunch situations. He has clinched 172 raid points from 22 matches with holding an average of 7.82. He has 8 Super 10’s and 3 Super Raids to his name.

3) Ruturaj Koravi – Gujarat Fortunegiants

Hailing from Maharashtra, right corner Ruturaj Koravi has been phenomenal for Gujarat in his maiden PKL campaign. Ruturaj has a huge contribution in Maharashtra’s 65th Senior National Championships triumph. His combination with left corner Sachin Vitthala has worked for the team. Block and waist hold are the signature moves of Ruturaj in defense. Ruturaj clinched 47 tackle points from 22 matches with an average of 2.14. He scored 1 High 5 and 3 Super Tackles. He was an integral part of Gujarat’s deadly defensive combination.

4) Naveen – Haryana Steelers

Due to the injury of Wazir Singh, Naveen got a chance in starting seven of Haryana Steelers. Right raider Naveen is the supportive raider to Vikash Khandola. He cliched 88 raid points in 21 games with an average of 4.19 raid points per match. Naveen has 4 Super Raids and 1 Super 10 to his name in PKL 6. He was successful with his touches and escapes.

5) Manjeet – Patna Pirates

Patna Pirate’s Manjeet who is the part of Services team that won Federation Cup 2018 is also one of the emerging players of PKL season 6. Running hand touch is the signature move of this right raider. Manjeet took 87 raid points from 22 matches with holding an average of 3.95. He scored 1 Super Ten and 3 Super Raids in PKL 6.
