Second victory for Indian Kabaddi Team on first day at Asian Games

After having a rest of just 4 hours between two matches Indian Men’s Kabaddi Team managed to register their win over Sri Lanka as 44-28.

The team won their first match against Bangladesh And was on court to take on Sri Lanka. Lots of fans at Garuda Sports Complex, Jakarta were supporting India and their ‘India India’ chants were creating energetic atmosphere for the team.

Early pressure was inflicted on India as Sri Lanka was having the lead over India in the first five minutes. But champion Indian side started making comeback in the game.

India inflicted two all-outs over the Sri Lanka and were leading the first half as 27-13 due to the massive performances of skipper Ajay Thakur, Monu Goyat in raiding and in defense which was lead by Girish Ernak.

Second half started with the point scored by Indian team. But then after the Sri Lankan side gained confidence with back to back three super tackles in which got Pardeep Narwal, skipper Ajay Thakur and Monu Goyat.

But Indian defense was not in the mood of giving chance to Sri Lanka raiders and was scoring points. Team inflicted its third all-out over the Sri Lanka. Side-by-side, Sri Lanka raiders were scoring some bonus and super tackle points, but were unable to match the scoreboard.

Whereas Indian raiders like Monu Goyat, Rahul Chaudhary and Rishank Devadiga were scoring points from Sri Lanka defense. As a result of continued success in scoring points Ajay Thakur led- Indian side managed to register their second win at the competition.

Even after total of six super tackles couldn’t saved the Sri Lankan team from loss. Tomorrow at the Asian Games, there will be a clash of India and South Korea at 2.30 pm as per IST.
