Why is it important to win the toss in Kabaddi?

In outdoor sports toss plays a crucial role. The team that wins the toss in the Cricket, chooses bowling or batting based on conditions. While in indoor sports like Badminton, toss decides who will serve first and the other team decides which side of the court they would start play.

In Pro Kabaddi League, toss-winning captain either decides the side of the court or to go on raid first. The choice-court is always beneficial for the team. Because the opposition raids first and when they do two consecutive empty raids (No points in raid) the third is automatically a do-or-die raid.

If a raider fails to score point in a do-or-die raid his opposition team gets one point the raider automatically gets eliminated. In the second half, they go on do-or-die first. It depends upon the team to capitalize on the opportunity with their skill.

The second big advantage is that even if the toss-winning team is trailing by some points they can cover those it by touch points. As raiding first naturally gives you an opportunity to increase the strength of your side by getting touch points.

All-in-all toss in Pro Kabaddi League is a do-or-die raid decider and captains usually choose the court. Kabaddi fans will get to see this in Pro Kabaddi League which will kick-off from 7th October 2018.
