Girish Ernak becomes only third Maharashtrian player to lead a PKL franchise

Puneri Paltan announced defender Girish Ernak as their captain for the upcoming Pro Kabaddi League season 6.

Left corner defender Girish Ernak was retained by the team for season 6. He has 64 tackle points to his name from 21 matches in season 5. Girish was the best defender for Puneri Paltan in season 5. In total, he has 176 tackle points to his name from 77 matches. Girish had also played a vital role for Puneri Paltan reaching the playoffs last season.

Girish is the third player from Maharashtra to lead a team Pro Kabaddi League. Rishank Devadiga is also chosen as captain of UP Yoddha this season. For the first time in PKL, two Maharashtrian players will be captain of the PKL teams. Nilesh Shinde was the first Maharashtrian player to lead PKL team. He led Bengal Warriors in season 2, 3 and 4.

Girish Ernak led-Puneri Paltan will take on U Mumba on 7th October 2018 in Maharashtra Derby. Pune leg is to commence from 18th to 24th October 2018.
