Tamil Thalaivas re-appoints coach who helped India win Asian Games gold
The 8th season of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is about to start soon. So now all the teams are starting preparations for this season. Tamil Thalaivas have re-appointed J Uday Kumar as their head coach. Edachery Bhaskaran had stepped down as the coach in 2019 due to the poor performance of Tamil Thalaivas. J Uday Kumar was then promoted as the head coach in the middle of the season of PKL.
Tamil Thalaivas announced this ahead of the auction to be held in Mumbai from August 31. Earlier, J Uday Kumar had also coached Telugu Titans and UP Yoddha.
In the 7th season of PKL under the coaching of J Uday Kumar, Tamil Thalaivas won only 4 out of their 22 matches. However, the team managers trusted him and re-signed. Originally from Kerala, J Uday Kumar supported new players like Ajith Kumar, Abhishek and Sagar Rathi in the 7th season of PKL.

J. Uday Kumar is one of the best Kabaddi Coaches in India. He also coached the Indian team that won three gold medals at the Asian Games. J Uday Kumar had represented Kerala, Delhi and Rajasthan as a national player. Uday Kumar has seen the entire journey of Kabaddi from clay to mat in his coaching career. Uday Kumar had earlier coached Telugu Titans and UP Yoddha in PKL. He will now coach the Tamil Thalaivas team this season.
Tamil Thalaivas had a very poor performance in the last 3 seasons. The team was at the bottom of the points table for the last 3 years. Now Tamil Thalaivas is preparing for this season in PKL by making some changes in their team. They have retained at least three players this season. These include Sagar Rathi, Himanshu and M Abhishek.
